The BBS RT88 wheel is a motorsport-derived solution engineered to combine race-inspired design with durability suitable for high-performance road vehicles. Developed through cooperation between BBS Motorsport divisions in Germany and the United States, the RT88 adapts the engineering principles and iconic visual identity of the legendary BBS E88 racing wheel for road and track-day applications.
The construction integrates a forged multi-spoke center inspired by the E88 with a high-strength forged barrel derived from the BBS LM wheel program developed in Japan. This design increases structural rigidity while reducing unsprung mass, improving steering precision, suspension responsiveness, and overall driving dynamics. Unlike pure racing wheels, the RT88 incorporates protective surface finishes and enhanced air retention, ensuring reliable operation in everyday driving conditions.
Manufactured using advanced forging technology and optimized through FEM structural analysis, the RT88 delivers an excellent strength-to-weight ratio. The design also ensures compatibility with modern high-performance braking systems, including carbon ceramic brake packages, making it suitable for aggressive street driving and track-oriented use.
