HIPERMAX S features proprietary HKS tuning that softens initial input. Harshness over small road imperfections is reduced, making the difference noticeable from the first movement while delivering ride comfort and quality during everyday street driving.

The FLAT RIDE CONCEPT preserves low-speed comfort while smoothly and naturally controlling vehicle attitude changes during cornering. The WR Needle provides a wide Damping adjustment range for precise tuning across everyday street use, winding roads, and sporty driving.

Backed by three consecutive All Japan Dirt Trial Series titles and more than 50 years of motorsports involvement, HKS applies competition-derived expertise to the development of its Suspension systems.

Aluminum Upper Mounts

The aluminum upper mounts feature a carefully selected shot-blasted finish. Extensive prototyping achieved a refined matte texture with a calm, premium appearance. Reinforced rubber provides a more controlled feel than factory upper mounts while balancing firmness and compliance. It also helps absorb fine body vibrations for smooth, supple driving comfort.

Depending on vehicle characteristics, pillow-ball upper mounts and reinforced rubber mount options are available.

Dedicated Springs

The springs use a high-grade material not found in standard industry specifications. Cold-formed in-house at HKS facilities, they provide exceptional quality, consistency, and long-term durability. The spring rate is clearly printed on each spring for improved identification and easier setup.

Valve Shims

High-quality, Japan-made valve shims ensure consistent performance. A special surface treatment prevents shim adhesion, allowing smooth operation and stable behavior. This enables precise control of oil Flow under all operating conditions and reliable damping performance in any environment.

Inverted Monotube for Strut-Type Applications

For Strut-type Suspension applications, an inverted monotube design robustly supports the loads acting on the Suspension. The structure enhances rigidity and stability under driving loads, providing handling precision while maintaining driving comfort across a wide range of conditions.

Spring Insulator

As a Suspension spring compresses and extends, it is constantly subjected to rotational forces. The spring insulator relieves these forces, allowing the spring to move freely and ensuring smooth, consistent compression and rebound.

PNE Coating

The PNE coating prevents thread seizure caused by corrosion, a common issue with full-Length Height adjustable Suspension systems. Its smooth surface also reduces friction, requiring less force when adjusting Ride height.

Dual PVS: Dual Preload Valve System

Rebound characteristics are refined for a smoother response while suppressing unnecessary movement. To support the further-evolved FLAT RIDE CONCEPT, the system is individually optimized for each vehicle application. Optimized damping force characteristics provide a new dimension of driving comfort.

WR Needle: Wide-Range Damping Adjustment Mechanism

The Damping adjustment needle has been redesigned to vary oil Flow more effectively, with an increased relief passage and a needle profile providing a wider adjustment range. Expanding the range toward the softer side enables greater flexibility in soft-setting tuning.

The optimal specification is selected for each vehicle from needles with different characteristics, enabling adaptable Suspension settings across a broad range of driving situations.

Advanced Bump Rubber Plus

The design retains early bump contact engagement in the Suspension Stroke, gradually increasing load in a controlled manner. The optimal specification is selected from an expanded range of shapes to suit each vehicle application.

Monotube Shock Absorber / Damper Design

Continuing the HIPERMAX series tradition, a monotube Shock absorber / Damper design separates the gas chamber from the oil chamber and permits the use of a large-diameter Piston. This provides refined and highly stable damping force characteristics.
