The Mishimoto Performance Intake Kit is designed for the 2017-2021 Honda Civic Type R. The Civic Type R represents the peak of Honda's Civic platform, but there is still room for improvement, particularly in the intake system. The OEM setup includes an aluminum runner from the turbo to the induction boot, allowing for targeted upgrades.

The original intake hose is replaced with a five-layer silicone hose embedded with heat-resistant fibers and reinforced with steel wire to maintain its shape under boost. The new hose features an increased diameter and a smoother interior, resulting in a 42-percent increase in airflow throughout the system. Additional improvements include a precision-adjusted MAF housing and a larger airbox to accommodate a higher-flow filter, while retaining the factory rubber snorkel for the dedicated intake channel in the hood.

These enhancements provide a maximum gain of 16.7 whp and 20.1 wtq from the 2.0T engine. The stealth black color scheme maintains an OEM+ appearance, and the kit includes the Mishimoto Lifetime Warranty.

Recommendation: For best performance, clean and re-oil the oiled air filter every 10,000–15,000 miles during normal driving. Inspect and service the filter more frequently in dusty or off-road conditions.
