The 2015+ Golf TSI/GTI/R, now in its 7th generation, and its intercooling system receive a significant upgrade with the Mishimoto Performance Intercooler Kit. The stock intercooler, positioned between the radiator and AC condenser, uses a tube-and-fin construction with plastic end tanks, which may be adequate for standard driving but struggles under increased boost and intense conditions.

The Mishimoto 2015+ Volkswagen MK7 Golf TSI/GTI/R Performance Intercooler replaces the factory unit with a larger, all-aluminum, TIG-welded bar-and-plate core, increasing overall volume by 89% and external fin surface area by 162%. Cast aluminum end tanks with integrated airflow diverters ensure optimal use of the full core. The kit also includes a Performance Intercooler Pipe Kit, featuring mandrel-bent aluminum piping and 5-layer silicone couplers, increasing airflow channels to 2.75 inches and improving flow by 30%.

Combined, these upgrades deliver maximum power gains of 14.5 whp and 13 wtq on stock tuning, and reduce intercooler outlet temperatures by 23°F compared to stock. The kit includes CNC-machined aluminum mounting brackets, and piping is available in wrinkle black and polished finishes. The Mishimoto Lifetime Warranty is included.

Installation Notes: 27 in-lbs (3NM) recommended for all T-bolt and constant-tension T-bolt clamps. These clamps have an operating range of 18-35 in-lbs (2-4NM). Do not exceed the maximum torque rating of 35 in-lbs (4NM).

Note: This kit is compatible with the EA888 Gen3 engine and manual or 6-speed DSG transmissions only. Hot-side intercooler piping may not fit properly on vehicles equipped with 7-speed DSG transmissions.
