The RECARO Podium GF is a retrofit shell seat developed for dual use on public roads and racetracks. Designed for GT vehicles, sports cars, and touring vehicles, it combines motorsport-derived construction with certified road approval. The glass fiber reinforced plastic (GFRP) shell ensures reduced weight while meeting ABE requirements for road use and FIA 8855-1999 homologation for competition.

The seat features an integrated headrest, pronounced lateral support in the backrest and seat cushion areas, and specially formed shoulder contours for improved driver stability under dynamic loads. The open-back shell design enables passive ventilation, while the ergonomic pad system enhances comfort during extended driving. The Size M version is equipped with replaceable pads for drivers of medium build. This variant includes an integrated side airbag (SAB), making it the first retrofit shell seat with airbag integration. Upholstery in black Alcantara® combined with red leather provides a high-quality finish and is highly fire-resistant.
