SACHS Racing Clutch Disc

Sintered metal, torsion-damped Sinter-Pad clutch discs are subjected to very high loads and are complex components with a compact design. In addition to Torque transmission, they provide torsional vibration damping and extremely high heat resistance. Clutch discs with torsion springs also act as vibration dampers between the engine and transmission.

• Higher stop position and maximum capacity of the torsion damper unit before the locating rivets reach the stop position

The Technology

The SACHS Racing Sinter-Pad clutch disc has a higher thermal load capacity and higher rpm resistance than organic standard clutch discs and is particularly resistant to dirt and oil. It enables harder starting with abrupt clutch engagement and allows significantly higher Torque to be transmitted.

Combined with the SACHS Performance clutch pressure plate, it creates an ideal clutch for motorsport use and extremely performance-enhanced vehicles, combining high quality with in-depth motorsport expertise.

Torsion Damper

SACHS Racing sprung clutch discs are equipped with stronger torsion dampers to transmit higher maximum engine Torque. The torsion-sprung SACHS Racing clutch disc from ZF dampens engine vibration and protects the vehicle transmission through its reinforced damper design.

SACHS torsional dampers are customised to the specific characteristics of each engine and vehicle combination. The damping system consists of a friction device and a set of springs for driving and idling operation. The Coil springs allow limited torsion between the crankshaft and transmission input shaft. The torsional dampers have a higher stop Torque and provide maximum load capacity before block stop.

Clutch Cushion Spring

The cushion spring improves starting comfort and ensures that the clutch Friction materials are evenly supported. Cushion springs are corrugated spring plate segments with a spring travel of up to approximately 1 mm, riveted to the clutch disc carrier plate on the transmission side.

On high-performance SACHS Racing clutch discs, the cushion spring is generally omitted in favour of higher transmittable Torque compared with the standard clutch disc.
