Frequently Asked Questions:

OBD port and vehicle diagnostics: Standard BMW diagnostic tools can still read and clear fault codes from systems such as ABS, DSC, and body modules. The engine ECU will no longer be accessible through BMW diagnostic software. Engine diagnostics and fault management are performed through Syvecs SCal software.

Traction control operation: The Syvecs traction control system offers improved performance over the factory strategy. The OEM ESP button can be assigned within SCal using AN20, allowing traction control settings to be adjusted or disabled.

Fuel consumption gauge with larger injectors: The fuel consumption calculation can be adjusted under SCal, Fuel Consumption, Injector Consumption Scaling. A suitable starting point is injector size divided by 60.

Switching between calibrations and maps: The recommended solution is a Syvecs Calibration Rotary Switch, available through Syvecs or an authorized dealer. It provides instant access to multiple maps, traction settings, boost levels, and launch control configurations.

Fueling and ignition for turbocharged applications: The supplied base calibration uses the naturally aspirated Alpha-N strategy. For forced-induction applications, a MAP sensor can be connected to a spare ECU input. Additional fueling can be configured under Run Mode, Fueling, Corrections, Simple Manifold Pressure Multiplier. Ignition timing can be adjusted under Run Mode, Ignition, Corrections, Simple Manifold Pressure Adder.

Wideband lambda sensor support: The kit supports dual LSU4.9 wideband lambda sensors as standard and can also be built with an option for dual NTK sensors.

Additional parts: Turbocharged or supercharged applications require an external MAP sensor wired into the plug-in adapter.
