The Syvecs BMW E92 M3 Kit brings a new level of engine management control to the E92 M3 range with the world's first complete standalone engine control module.

By simply plugging in the kit, a new level of control is available for both manual and DCT models.

  • Live tuning of every aspect of the engine calibration, including signals sent to the DCT ECU; selectable engine maps, boost, traction control and launch control levels through a 12-position switch or OEM cruise control; fully adjustable launch control with anti-lag strategies and ramp-in maps; rolling anti-lag and pit-lane limiter strategies; four programmable target slip maps; adjustable traction control based on lateral G, steering angle and individual wheel speeds; anti-theft and valet modes.
  • Full variable valve timing, closed-loop dual lambda control using OEM lambda sensors, Flex Fuel control, cruise control add-on, configurable individual-cylinder closed-loop knock control and cylinder shutdown under severe knock conditions; control of OEM and additional high- or low-impedance injectors, adjustable injector dead times and injector end angles; wet and dry nitrous control with direct solenoid operation and N2O heater control through pressure monitoring.
  • Fully adjustable closed-loop boost control with launch adjustments and trims for turbo speed, air charge, engine coolant temperature and exhaust gas temperature; exhaust gas temperature monitoring and trimming; support for MAP sensors up to 7 bar; configurable engine safety trips; control of the main direct-injection fuel pumps and sub-pumps, with relative fuel-pressure monitoring and limiting if fuel pressure drops under boost.

E92 M3 Kit FAQs and Help

Q: Can error codes on the DCT be cleared from the Syvecs?

Yes. See Cal - Comments in the base map. Go to I/O Configuration at the bottom of SCal - Tree - Car Coding. Select Car Coding 2, enter 5, and then return it to 0.

Q: Can clutch pressures be logged from the TCM?

Yes. The Syvecs communicates with the DCT transmission computer and requests the data. It is returned under User Defined Sensors - Clutch 1 Pressure and Clutch 2 Pressure. These can be added in SCFG to the logging configuration for datalog monitoring.

Q: Is ion detection still used for knock control?

No. Two Bosch donut knock sensors can be wired in (part number: 0261231110; cross-reference: 0031538628). These are already calibrated and configured in the base maps for knock control and individual-cylinder monitoring.

Q: Which original features will no longer work?

All features will work.

Q: Can the OBD port still be used to log, read and clear codes on other vehicle ECUs, such as ABS?

Yes, through any BMW tools. Car Code 2 must be set to 0.

Q: How are ignition and fueling trimmed for a turbocharged engine?

Because the base map is Designed for a stock engine based on Alpha N, tuning is straightforward. To add fueling or remove ignition for a turbo installation, a MAP sensor must be installed and wired to a spare input. Under Run-Mode Fueling - Corrections - Simple Manifold Pressure Multiplier, additional fueling can be added based on the MAP sensor signal. Ignition timing can be trimmed under Run-Mode Ignition - Corrections - Simple Manifold Pressure Adder.

Q: Can gearbox adaptation be performed with the Syvecs on the DCT gearbox?

Yes. This is explained in Cal - Comments in the ECU base map. Go to I/O Configuration - Car Coding 2 and set the value to 7 only when the engine is fully warmed, the vehicle has been driven for at least 10 minutes so the gearbox is up to temperature, the vehicle is in Park and the brake is pressed.
