Description VERKLINE WAS-442 Fully Wishbone Kit Stage 1 for BMW M2 (F87) / M3 (F80) / M4 (F82)

The Fully Adjustable Wishbone Kit Stage 1 is designed to improve suspension precision and durability by replacing compliant factory elements with rigid, adjustable components. The kit minimizes deflection under load, maintaining consistent wheel alignment and stable suspension geometry during aggressive driving.

Features

  • Maintains consistent suspension geometry under load by reducing deflection
  • Improves handling precision and steering response
  • Increases durability for competitive and high-stress driving conditions
  • Provides immediate suspension feedback without compliance from rubber bushings
  • Ensures secure load transfer between suspension components
  • Precisely CNC machined aluminium construction
  • Black coating for corrosion resistance and durable surface finish
  • Preassembled components for direct installation
  • Compatible with OEM and Verkline Stage 2 rear subframe and front uprights
  • Designed for track-focused use where precision and durability are prioritized over comfort
  • Engineered as a complete system to ensure proper kinematics and component compatibility
  • Developed using full suspension CAD modeling based on a 3D scanned vehicle
  • Validated through full suspension and steering travel to avoid component interference
  • Optimized to work within the defined misalignment range of all spherical bearings

Kit Contents

  • WAS-450 – Front adjustable caster arms x 2
  • WAS-451 – Front adjustable camber arms x 2
  • WAS-452 – Front adjustable tie rod ends x 2
  • WAS-453 – Front adjustable anti-roll bar links (front drop links) x 2
  • WAS-461 – Upper rear arm inserts (for use with OEM upper arms) x 4
  • WAS-462 – Rear lower adjustable trailing arms and rear adjustable toe links x 4
  • WAS-463 – Rear subframe inserts for lower control arms x 2
  • WAS-427 – Rear adjustable anti-roll bar links (rear drop links) x 2

Used in

  • BMW M2 (F87): 2015 – 2018
  • BMW M2 Competition / CS (F87): 2018 -2021
  • BMW M3 (F80): 2014 – 2018
  • BMW M4 (F82): 2014 – 2020

Additionally

The full wishbone kit is intended to be used as a complete set. Each component is designed to function as part of an integrated suspension system, ensuring that geometry, load paths, and bearing operation remain within the intended parameters. Mixing third-party components can negatively affect performance, durability, and overall suspension behavior, as other parts may not be designed to withstand the increased loads generated by improved handling characteristics.

Rear upper control arms are intentionally not included, as kinematic analysis shows they are not required for proper adjustment of rear axle geometry. Camber, toe, and bump steer can be effectively corrected through replacement of the toe link and lower trailing arm. Adjusting camber via the upper control arm complicates setup procedures and does not provide meaningful advantages. Wheel clearance concerns should instead be addressed through wheel offset or spacers.

The original rear upper control arms retain their lightweight and durable construction, with rubber-metal bushings replaced by spherical bearing bushings to improve precision without increasing weight or complexity.

The OEM rear upright already utilizes a factory spherical bearing, providing a rigid, zero-deflection connection. Replacing this component offers no technical benefit and is therefore unnecessary.

Lowering the vehicle alters suspension pickup point relationships, affecting roll center height and overall kinematics. While a reduced center of gravity can improve handling, it also introduces geometry changes that must be corrected through proper alignment and optimized suspension components.

In the BMW F8X rear suspension, camber changes directly influence bump steer behavior. At the standard ride height of 90 mm, the camber adjustment range spans from 0.75 degrees to 2.35 degrees. Variations within this range result in measurable changes to suspension behavior, which must be accounted for when optimizing setup.
