The VERUS ENGINEERING A0055A-BARE Small Aluminum Hood Louver Kit is designed to reduce engine bay heat and underhood pressure on the Subaru BRZ, Scion FRS, Toyota GT86, and GR86. By evacuating hot air from beneath the hood, the louvers improve cooling stack efficiency, help protect heat-sensitive components, and can contribute to a slight increase in front-end downforce during high-speed operation.

During development, the OEM hood was retained to take advantage of its lightweight construction and structural design. This approach preserves the hood’s internal skeleton, ensuring long-term strength and shape stability. When installed on the factory hood, the system weighs less than most full carbon replacement hoods while delivering functional aerodynamic and thermal benefits. Optional wickers are included to significantly enhance airflow evacuation, and optional rain guards are available for additional engine bay protection.
