The VERUS ENGINEERING A0055A-BLK Small Aluminum Hood Louver Kit is engineered to reduce engine bay heat and underhood pressure on the Subaru BRZ, Scion FRS, Toyota GT86, and GR86. By evacuating hot air from beneath the hood, the louvers improve cooling stack efficiency, help extend the lifespan of heat-sensitive components, and can contribute to a slight increase in front-end downforce during high-speed driving.

During development, the OEM hood was intentionally retained due to its lightweight construction and structural efficiency. This design approach preserves the hood’s internal skeleton, ensuring long-term strength and shape stability. When installed on the factory hood, the system weighs less than most full carbon replacement hoods while delivering proven thermal and aerodynamic benefits. Optional wickers are included to significantly enhance evacuation performance, while optional rain guards are available to help protect engine bay components.
