The VERUS ENGINEERING A0143A Backing Plate Kit is designed to improve front brake cooling efficiency on the Subaru WRX and STI platforms by directing ambient air into the center of the brake rotor. The kit uses a large stainless steel backing plate combined with a properly formed dry carbon air duct to promote consistent airflow through the rotor vanes, supporting improved thermal management under demanding driving conditions.

This solution serves as a foundation for a do-it-yourself brake cooling system when paired with standard 2.5-inch silicone brake duct hoses. By reducing brake temperatures, the kit helps improve resistance to brake fade, minimize brake fluid boiling, and extend the service life of pads and rotors.
