The S197 chassis third link setup has experienced brake hop and axle tramp with the stock arm, as the ultra-compliant stock bushing is designed for comfort and lacks performance for spirited driving. Whiteline's upper control arm is constructed from 4130 Chromalloy and features the longer arm length introduced by Ford in 2011, which helps reduce brake hop.

The synthetic elastomer bushing increases rear end stability without the harshness of typical bearing designs and includes an eccentric crush tube for pinion angle and instant center adjustment, avoiding the need for a turnbuckle. The pinhole voiding feature allows the bushing to articulate without binding. The heavy-duty mount increases arm rigidity and is designed to be universal for all S197 chassis years.
